河流研究所

河流研究所,隶属长江水利委员会长江科学院,成立于1953年,主要为水利部长江水利委员会从事长江保护、治理、开发与管理工作提供河流专业的科技支撑、是水利部长江中下游河湖治理与防洪重点实验室的主要依托专业、长江技术经济学会流域河湖保护与修复专业委员会的维护单位。

主要从事河流动力学基本理论、河道演变与整治、防洪减灾、工程泥沙、流域来沙与泥沙资源化利用、河湖保护与生态修复、水利血防、智慧水利、水利体制机制等研究。近10年,主持完成国家科技支撑计划、国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金、公益性行业专项等国家及省部级、重大工程专题研究项目300余项,获得省部级以上科技奖励近40项,其他科技奖励近百项。

承担和参与了长江流域综合规划、防洪规划、河道治理规划、采砂规划、岸线保护与利用规划等数十项规划编制工作,开展了长江中下游荆江、马鞍山、镇扬等重点河段的河势控制与护岸工程设计工作,承担了流域内外工程泥沙、洪水影响评价、采砂论证及评估、河湖长制、水工程建设规划同意书、水库调度、水库清淤、河湖生态保护与修复、数字孪生、水利政策法规等科技服务与咨询项目数千项,并参与长江水利委员会水行政监督检查工作。

拥有世界规模最大的河工模型——长江防洪模型,现有试验大厅8座,总面积超10万m2,拥有良好的科研环境、先进的试验基础设施与测控设备,以及多套自主研发的水沙数学模型和河流数值模拟信息化平台。

 

The Department of River Research, affiliated with the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI) of the Changjiang Water Resources Commision (CWRC) of Ministry of Water Resources (MWR), established in 1953, provides scientific and technological support in the field of river research for the protection, management, development, and regulation of CWRC. It is also a key supporting entity for the Key Lab of River and Lake Management and Flood Control in the Middle and Lower Reaches of the Changjiang River of MWR, and the maintenance unit of the Professional Committee for Protection and Restoration of Rivers and Lakes in River Basin of the Changjiang Technology and Economy Society.

The Department of River Research conducts research in several critical areas, including fundamental theories of river dynamics, channel evolution and management, flood control and disaster mitigation, engineering sediment, sediment resource utilization within basins, river and lake protection, ecological restoration, schistosomiasis control, smart water resource management, and institutional and policy frameworks for water governance. Over the past decade, the Department has led over 300 national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, including the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China etc. These efforts have resulted in nearly 40 awards at the provincial and ministerial levels and numerous other recognitions for scientific achievement.

The Department of River Research has contributed to the development of dozens of planning and compilation work, including comprehensive planning, flood control planning, channel management planning, sand mining planning, and shoreline protection and utilization plans for the Yangtze River Basin. It has also undertaken the design of river regime control and bank protection projects for key segments of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, such as Jingjiang, Ma'anshan, and Zhenjiang-Yangzhou. Additionally, it has executed thousands of consulting and technical service projects, encompassing sediment management in engineering, flood impact assessments, sand mining evaluations, river and lake governance under the "River and Lake Chief System," water project planning approvals, reservoir operation, reservoir dredging, ecological protection and restoration of rivers and lakes, digital twin technologies, and water policy and regulation development. It also regularly participates in the supervision and inspection of water administration of CWRC.

The Department possesses the world's largest river physical model—the Changjiang Flood Control Model, with 8 experimental halls covering an area of over 100,000 m2, providing an excellent research environment, state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure, and advanced monitoring and control equipment. Furthermore, the Department has developed several proprietary hydrodynamic and sediment numerical models, as well as an integrated digital platform for river numerical simulations.
