The European Geosciences Union General Assembly  was held on 13 ~ 18 April 2008 in International Convention Center of Vienna, Austria, more than 8000 experts and scholars from all over Europe and the rest of the world were brought together into the meeting covering 25 disciplines of physical geography, space sciences, hydrology, climate, geology and environment, etc. During the meeting, the participants made widely international exchanges and discussions on the latest achievements.

Dr. Xu Jijun from the Water Resources Department of CRSRI was invited to attend the academic exchange of hydrology discipline, and presented CRSRI’s achievements on drought assessment by poster presentation.
